About this item

Compression Coupling, Concrete Tight, 3/4 in, Compression, Steel, Plated Zinc, FB1-2014, 2 in Length, 1.563 in Width

Features:

  • Size: 3/4 inches
  • Application Type: EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing)
  • Material: Zinc-plated steel
  • Weight: Approximately 0.09 lbs
  • Construction: Concrete-tight when taped
  • Standards: Meets UL514B and NEMA FB-1
  • This coupling is used to join two lengths of EMT conduit together, ensuring a secure and concrete-tight connection
  • It's suitable for indoor use

Applications:

  1. Commercial Electrical Installations: Ideal for joining two lengths of EMT conduit in commercial buildings, ensuring a secure and reliable connection.
  2. Industrial Settings: Used in factories and industrial facilities where durable and concrete-tight connections are necessary.
  3. Residential Projects: Suitable for home electrical wiring projects, providing a safe and compliant way to extend conduit runs.
  4. Outdoor Installations: When properly taped, it can be used in outdoor settings where moisture resistance is required

Installation:

  1. Prepare the Conduit: Ensure the ends of the EMT conduit are clean and free of burrs. Cut the conduit to the desired length using a pipe cutter or hacksaw.

  2. Insert the Conduit: Slide the coupling onto one end of the conduit. Make sure the conduit is fully seated inside the coupling.

  3. Tighten the Compression Nut: Using a wrench, tighten the compression nut on the coupling. This will compress the internal ring, creating a secure connection.

  4. Repeat for the Other Conduit: Insert the other piece of conduit into the opposite end of the coupling and tighten the compression nut in the same manner.

  5. Check the Connection: Ensure both ends of the conduit are securely fastened and the coupling is tight. The connection should be concrete-tight when properly installed

Tools Required:

  1. Pipe Cutter or Hacksaw: To cut the EMT conduit to the desired length.
  2. Deburring Tool or File: To smooth out any rough edges on the cut conduit.
  3. Wrench: To tighten the compression nuts on the coupling.
  4. Tape Measure: To measure the lengths of conduit accurately.
  5. Marker: To mark the cutting points on the conduit.
  6. Tape (Optional): For ensuring the connection is concrete-tight, especially in outdoor or damp environments

Having these tools on hand will help ensure a smooth and secure installation.
